Final Project

In wanting to capture the feelings of depression: loneliness, emptiness, overwhelmed, despair and anger. I used darker values in my images along with psychic line to help convey the desired feelings. Despite the overwhelming feelings felt when depressed, I kept the images simplified, leveled and focused purely on one emotion at a time.
As someone who suffers from but is also trying to work through my depression, capturing and trying to visually put my emotions into images helps to communicate what I am feeling inside. I chose to use a subject other than myself, since it was easier for me to direct. Consequently, this allowed me an opportunity to get an outsider's view of depression.

Grad School Update
Well this semester is about at an end. I have one week left & two final projects to finish. I'll share those soon ;)
Help-Portrait
I spent a wonderful day today with another lady taking portraits for help-portraits at the local Avon Health & Rehabilitation Center in the Alzheimer's Unit. I had so much fun taking their portraits & taking family portraits. It was such an honor & privilege to be able to give back to someone who'd most likely never have their picture professionally taken.
